Embedding nbmeeting etherpad link into the forum[edit | edit source]

James

Unsure why, but the https://pad.riseup.net/p/nbmeeting will not embed after enabling onebox support for etherpad-lite links. Any other variation of this url works, such as `https://pad.riseup.net/p/nbmeetingG` below. Reported this issue on meta discourse here.

Goto this EtherPad

Forgive my ignorance but what is onebox?

James

Onebox functionality is when you allow a “preview” of something to appear in place of just the url.

Example would be seeing the first few lines + any image from a thread you’ve pasted by url to Slack.

(in true meta fashion) here is how this post becomes oneboxed when pasted in Slack:

I’m hoping to use Onebox to allows us to embed a borderless iframe of the pad.riseup.net/p/nbmeeting directly into our forum posts.

Why?

Now anyone reading this post could also read/write to the linked pad + enter the chat as well!

Someone let me know if I explained this incorrectly.*

Why isn’t it working yet?

Something about our exact meeting notes link is causing the problem… I’ve successfully tried to use other etherpad link and there are no issues. I’ve created a post about this to meta.discourse.org

The problem might stem from some permissions set on our nbmeeting pad that I’m just not aware of, perhaps to prevent embedding or some unknown malicious behaviour…?
