Nextcloud for Noisebridge[edit | edit source]

Continuing the discussion from NB Meetings - centralize meeting planning:

We can use Unicorn to host a caldav server in Nextcloud. It worked well previously when run localhost in the space for some months.

We can configure it for users to set their own external storage rather than eat through our remaining server space.

I was looking caldav servers recently because I was considering moving off google calendar (easier said than done )

Have you considered any other options? Some seem a little easier to maintain/setup than nextcloud (IMO):

Nextcloud does have some cool plugins/add-ons though that might be more useful in the long term.

I was super confused at first on which calendar was the “real” calendar - as there is stuff on the wiki, the meetup, and then there is a discuss calendar, also, which doesn’t seem used?

Oh nice - if you’ve already used nextcloud then that’s rad!

All of those are fine by me. Nextcloud is easy to setup as a caldav calendar (I’ve used it for several years) and so is radicale.
