Ordibooth refresh[edit | edit source]

rando2019-01-09

Ordibooth stopped working after a corrupted raspi SD card. r and I have looked into it a bit, and I have decided to rebuild the image pipeline it from scratch to understand how it worked. The project is currently here, and is close to being ready. Each individual function works, but im slowly integrating them to be, at a minimum, a photobooth.

Once the photobooth works, stipplegen can be added, then finally axidraw integration.

Let me know if you want to help. Other people learning the tools now will help enhance it later. I’m using Kivy and it seems really easy to add things like overlays so we can add emoji’s and custom stuff from SVGs to the pics.

I’m also going to integrate ft (done) and twitter so ppl can tweet out pics they send, or post them directly to FT for a laff.

Curious on the status of this! @Boots

It’s kind of a mess at the moment. The lcd screen on the pi quit working, looks to be some physical damage judging by the scuff marks. Tried some basic troubleshooting but can’t get it to display anything. Also can’t ssh into it from the mac mini, not sure if that’s because it’s coming up with some error on boot or what the case is.

Software wise everything works fine. But it’s pretty disorganized, I’d have to show whoever how and what to run. It was all scripted to run completely automated but that kept breaking for some reason, and now feeding the images from stipplegen into axidraw needs to be done manually. But other than those problems it should work.

Not a functionality issue but the contrast and or brightness levels need to be adjusted in order to get better definition out of the axidraw. I was doing this manually as well just to try and find the right mix.
