Naomi has been working on adding SIP extensions so each guild can have a number people can call or leave voicemail.

Elan: this is dope. can it do paging over speakers?

Naomi: yes that's the plan, already works in the RNA lounge

Lumen: can we get a number that texts?

Naomi: maybe, twilio would handle that

Daniel: would love a webhook when someone calls in so it shows up in discord

Jet: who would pick up the woodshop line

Elan: doesnt have to be a person, could just be voicemail or info

Naomi: yeah exactly, more of an async thing. not expecting humans to answer.

2: Proposal to formalize associate → member pathway

Zacchae: right now the pathway is kind of vibe-based. wants to make it more legible without making it bureaucratic.

Elan: we talked about this a few months ago. the concern was gatekeeping.

Naomi: i don't think legibility and bureaucracy are the same thing. a checklist isn't bureaucracy, it's just communication.

Lumen: +1 to Naomi, could be as simple as "you've been coming for 3 months and someone vouches for you"

Zacchae: yeah, that's basically what i had in mind. not a test, just a watering hole moment.

Daniel: concerns about cliques forming around the vouching process

Jet: we've navigated this before - the vouching doesn't have to be a single person, could be any member present at a meeting

Elan: suggest we take this to discord for async input before next meeting

Naomi: seconded. let's not decide tonight, just surface it.

3: 5MoF scheduling for April

Lumen: 5 minutes of fame needs 4-6 speakers for april. it's the 3rd thursday. anyone interested should DM her.

Perry: what is 5MoF?

Lumen: five minute talks, anyone can present anything, very casual, usually 20-40 people show up

Elan: i can probably do a talk on the asterisk setup

Naomi: i was thinking about doing one on the history of phreaking at NB

Jet: i'll put it in the calendar and post to luma
