I became a Noisebridge member on August 25, 2009 [https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Meeting_Notes_2009_08_25 August 25, 2009], and in early 2014, I indisputably became a firmly established member of Noisebridge's Board of Directors. 

While I have admittedly not contributed as much direct coding or hardware hacking as I would like to *at* the Space ever since I joined, I certainly Talk the Talk quite well as far as Policies and Procedures. Most people besides *this* Most person ;o) will easily recognize that I greatly prefer managing Noisebridge affairs remotely in my own manner of self-deprecating flippancy, as opposed to spending any significant amount of time on-site at the Space, excluding of course attending meetings such as Tuesdays' Weekly. This is primarily due to my various commitments, including holding down a full time job as well as taking care of my young boy.

It goes without saying that I can rarely be expected to making any sort of a commitment to personally showing up at the Space for a hands-on event such as a Noisebridge seasonal cleanup.

The gist is that it's really good for visitors to know that they will have a better experience (not get kicked out etc..) if they have a sponsor when they are in the space. This is because of the new "members and their guests only policy". So I'm guessing that the instructions to new visitors should try to strike a balance between "Visitors Welcome!" and "Here's exactly how to be an approved guest!" and "Look how easy it is to be an approved guest!" or something like that.
