I rage quit. I am seriously fed up with the PC culture of noisebridge that values having no dissent to said PC culture over the free exchange of ideas. I could have lived with it until I was placed in moderation by Tom Lowenthal for disagreeing with a feminist hypothesis. (That men rape and murder at a greater rate than women, how dare I) He then lied to the community at large about the reasons. And then doubled down on censorship by placing me back in moderation (for the past 3 days). Others who were placed in moderation are still able to post to the list about stuff not related to that conversation (they were only placed in moderation in an attempt to appear reasonable to the rest of noisebridge) but nothing that I post to the list gets through even if it has nothing to do with the discussion that Tom unilaterally banned.

Tom Lowenthal is an asshole.

There is no other way say or it. He is an cancer on noisebridge and personally responsible for me leaving.(I'm sure he will see that as a victory though.) He is rude, he games Noisebridge's rules of consensus, and was verbally and physically abusive towards my 7 year old son for picking up his (Tom's) play money from a D&D game. Just because I am leaving should not mean that Tom should continue to play in integral role in the governance of Noisebridge. You guys need to boot that fucker forever. He is causing you to shed members like rats fleeing a sinking ship. There have been at least 4 other people (I am not giving their names because they want nothing else to do with Noisebridge) who have given up on becoming members because of Tom's interference in the membership process. He is essentially stacking the member deck with only people who agree with his personal ideologies or will be his ally by preventing anyone who disagrees with him from being a member. This has been going on for at least 2 years and no one seems to try to check his bullshit. He embeds himself so deeply in the governance of the space that it has a chilling effect on anyone who has a problem with him or his behavior. If the chilling effect is not enough to shut you up he outright censors you while providing a fictional reason for it to the rest of the space. If you don't get rid of him soon you may never be able to and the culture of Noisebridge will not be up to Noisebridge but to Tom.

Fuck you Tom I hope you die of dysentery you fucking bully.

To provide an infrastructure so individuals can have a voice on the air. To have informative shows that can spread the ideas of Hacking and creating things. Music shows as well for artists that have different ideas and can't get out otherwise.

NB Radio will take the lead in working to create a total United States Hacker Radio Network. This will be a website & mailing list that will connect United States' hackerspaces to enable the USA wide production of Hacker Radio content. Hackerspaces nationwide will be able to tap into this content for use in their own local city hackerspace FCC liscensed FM Broadcast band radio station.

We will work together to help hackerspaces around the United States prepare their local city FCC radio license applications.

For instance, Clif, who is from Gainesville, FL, and is now living in the San Francisco bay area, might be able to assist
== Low Power FM (LPFM) Noncommercial Educational Radio Broadcast Stations Return to Top

Low power FM stations operate with 1 to 100 watts of power and cover a radius up to approximately 5.6 km (3.5 miles). Current information about the low power FM filing service is maintained on the LPFM page. The Audio Division has also assembled a program to help find available FM channels for LPFM stations.

Applications for new LPFM stations can only be filed on FCC Form 318 during the dates specified for an application filing window. Applications received at other times will be returned without consideration. We cannot provide advance information as to when the next application filing window period may be, but when that information is announced, it will be in the form of a Public Notice and posted at several places on the FCC's website.
# On top of a hill, Sutro tower, or tall building? Benefit: Larger coverage area, more listeners. Disadvantages: Fewer frequencies available. Cost both installation and monthly charges.
# At Noisebridge facility: Benefit: Low cost. Easy maintanance Disadvantages: Fewer listeners because smaller coverage are due to signal being blocked by local hills.
== Purpose ==

For instance, Clif, who is from Gainesville, FL, and is now living in the San Francisco bay area, might be able to assist
http://www.meetup.com/gainesville-hackerspace/
with coordinating their own station, as well as possibly others.

Transmitter & Antenna location:
# On top of a hill, Sutro tower, or tall building? Benefit: Larger coverage area, more listeners. Disadvantages: Fewer frequencies available. Cost both installation and monthly charges.
# At Noisebridge facility: Benefit: Low cost. Easy maintanance Disadvantages: Fewer listeners because smaller coverage are due to signal being blocked by local hills.

Studio options:<br>
# Turning the DJ booth into an actual real live DJ booth.
# Having the station out in the open to allow a for a more decentralized radio transmitter. Could cause problems if tampered with. It may be in our best interest to use the DJ booth.
# If we are going to transmit the Weekly Meeting we need a 2 second delay and a kill switch.
