=Printers=
Information about any printer accessible within the Noisebridge network should be listed here. If you're adding a new printer, a good suggestion would be to post user/password information physically onto the printer.

If you need to connect to a printer try searching for printers within your OS's printer config doodad. Currently they should automagically show up, if not see what tossing around the IP address of a printer can do for you.

===HP Color LaserJet Pro 1525nw===
Color laser printer with both USB and built-in tcp/ip ethernet networking. It prints up to 12ppm black and up to 8ppm color. It has 128 MB memory. Uses 4 toner cartridges: cyan, magenta, yellow, black. Purchased new for Noisebridge. The purchase included a 1-year warranty.

Details about this printer are on hp's website: [http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-3328070-4052975.html HP LaserJet Pro CP1525 Color Printer series - Overview and Features] .

The i.p. address (as of February 6, 2011) is 172.30.1.51 .

This printer uses all 4 of the following toner cartridges:

HP 128A Cyan LaserJet Toner Cartridge CE321A

HP 128A Magenta LaserJet Toner Cartridge CE323A

===Brother HL-5140===
Currently hooked up to [[Zebra]]. Shared via [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Printing_Protocol IPP]. Select the Brother HL-5140 specific PPD for faster printing. The generic postscript PPD should work fine, but be prepared to wait ~60 seconds per page. Note that SMB sharing is not enabled, you have to use IPP.

===HP LaserJet 5Si MX (treechopper)===
Speaks the usual JetDirect stuff on port 9000. Supports PCL and Postscript. See the [[Network]] page for the current address.

====Step-by-step setup====
Find your computer's list of printers. Add a new printer. Choose to add it under IPP protocol rather than a direct USB connection.
The IP address (as of June 5) is 172.30.0.6 .
*System Preferences
*Print & Fax
**Printing
*Use the "plus" sign below the list of printers to add a printer.
*New window comes up: "Printer Browser." Click "IP" tab, not "Default".
**Under "Protocol" dropdown, select IPP.
**Enter IP address below it: 172.30.0.6 . Computer will validate it, and should identify it as HP Laserjet 5Si. The default printing (Gimp) works for me, but as mentioned the PCL and Postscript options are available.
**Click "add", close extra window.
*Back in "Print&Fax", at "Selected Printer in Print Dialog" pick this printer. Or, when you go to print something, choose 172.30.0.6 as your printer among your options.
