===The Occupy Movement===
The Occupy movement is an international protest movement which is primarily directed against social and economic inequality. [https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Occupy_movement]

===Hacker Spaces===
A '''hackerspace''' or '''hackspace''' (also referred to as a '''hacklab''', '''makerspace''' or '''creative space''') is a location where people with common interests, often in computers, technology, science, or digital or electronic art (but also in many other realms) can meet, socialise and/or collaborate. Hackerspaces can be viewed as open community lab incorporating elements of machining, workshops and/or studios where hackers can come together to share resources and knowledge to build and make things. [https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/w/index.php?title=Hackerspace&oldid=459638001] Note that while Noisebridge offers some [[Sleeping at Noisebridge | resources for Occupiers]], it is not a crashpad.

===Hackupy===
Hackupy are hack session or group collaboration days/nights operated by local hacker spaces with a focus on building infrastructure, technology, and general discussion regarding the Occupy Movement happening in the same or nearby city. Think of [https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/BarCamp BarCamp] but with Occupy in mind.

Additionally [http://hackupy.org Hackupy.org] is providing a list of hackerspaces open to those looking for help from Occupations across the world.

=Hackupy at Noisebridge=
Noisebridge is open more or less 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to the general public. This also includes anyone want to work on projects involving the occupancy. Please feel free to drop by with your projects whenever, but the more hospitable nights are Mondays - Thursdays. Please check our [[Category:Events|events page]] for details on classes that might pertain to your particular craft or need.

===Discussion List===
We initially created the [https://www.noisebridge.net/mailman/listinfo/powerstation-discuss PowerStation-discuss list] as a place to talk about one of our Hackupy projects. As more and more projects sprouted up, we've been using that list as a place for general Hackupy discussion. Please feel free to use that list until we figure out something else to use.

[http://hackupy.org Hackupy.org] has a [http://lists.hackerspaces.org/mailman/listinfo/hackupy-discuss discuss list] of its own, primarily for discussion of generalized projects with other spaces.
